Javascript rules the world (wide web)

I have a strong backround in Java (which is not related to JavaScript, except that it looks similar but isn't at all). Most problems I experienced while developing node.js applications actually were not so much node.js related but occurred because of lack of my understanding of JavaScript and functional programming in general. Therefore I put together a couple of obstacles we experienced with JavaScript so far:
